Night to Shine is hosted by churches all around the globe who desire to share the love of Christ with their community of people with special needs. Night to Shine is a complementary event and while each event is a little different, some activities include a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, food, dancing, karaoke, gifts, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, a Sensory Room, and a crowning ceremony where every honored guest receives a crown or tiara!

Volunteer Team Roles
Red Carpet Team: The Red Carpet team is open to all ages and is the one team that does not require a background check. At the beginning of the night, this team will act as the “paparazzi,” welcoming guests and making them feel like kings and queens as they arrive for Night to Shine. This is the perfect place for whole families to serve together. For the safety of our Honored Guests, Buddies, and Volunteers, our volunteers on the Red Carpet will not enter into the dance once the Red Carpet is shut down unless a volunteer has been approved to do so. Be at the church by 5:30pm to serve in this way!
Beautification Team: Shoe Shine: Provide shoe shining for male Honored Guests. Makeup/Nails: Apply nail stickers or simple makeup for female Honored Guests.
Buddy Team: Spend the evening with an Honored Guest – be attentive, supportive, and helpful. Some guests will have mobility and in wheelchairs and some may even be non-verbal. In order to serve on the Buddy Team you need to be comfortable being paired with any Honored Guest. (These positions can be physically demanding and may require you to be on your feet for the duration of the event.)
Corsage and Boutonniere Team: Help prepare the corsage and boutonnieres for the event and once guests arrive for the evening, help them select and place their flowers.
Crowns, Tiaras & Gifts Team: Assemble gift bags and unpack crowns & tiaras prior to the event. (This will typically be the week of the event.) At the event, pass out crowns & tiaras during the crowning ceremony and assist with passing out gift bags to each Honored Guest as they leave the event.
